CHIPPEWA FALLS- Ice Dog forward Jack Johnston buried the first of his two goals 45 seconds into the tilt, a goal that proved to be the game winner in a 6-0 Ice Dogs win over the Chippewa Steel.  Nate Reid stopped 22 shots to record his third shutout of the season for the Dogs, who notched their 38th point of the season with the win.

Luke Mobley turns in 3-2-5 line against Chippewa

Luke Mobley had an outstanding night that included a hat trick in a five point game for the 20-year old out of St. Louis Park, Minn.  The line of Mobley, Johnston and Ty Proffitt was absolutely dominant,  accounting for 10 points for the Dogs, who are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.  Grant Ledford added his seventh goal of the season, a short handed tally midway through the second period to give the Dogs a 3-0 lead.

The Ice Dogs’ win, coupled with Kenai River’s 5-4 victory over Janesville, puts Fairbanks alone in second place in the NAHL Midwest Division, six points back of the Minnesota Magicians.  The Dogs look to complete the series sweep against the Steel Saturday night.  Fans in Fairbanks are encouraged to head to the Finish Line Restaurant to watch the game stream on one of the big screen TVs there.
