FAIRBANKS—Fairbanks Ice Dogs head coach Trevor Stewart said his team “made the game very complicated” in the first period of Saturday night’s North American Hockey League contest against the host Minnesota Wilderness.

The Ice Dogs and the Wilderness, the reigning Robertson Cup champions in the Tier II-Junior League, finished scoreless in the opening 20 minutes of the finale of their Midwest Division series in the Northwoods Credit Union Arena in Cloquet, Minnesota.
