FAIRBANKS—Trailing 1-0 in the third period Wednesday night to the Johnstown Tomahawks, there would be no late-game magic for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, who fell 3-1 to the Tomahawks in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

Ethan Somoza scored the Ice Dogs’ first goal to tie the game at one with 8:23 remaining in the third period, but Fairbanks couldn’t pull off its second-straight come-from-behind victory in as many days, giving up two goals to the Tomahawks in the final 7:58 of the game.
