Ice Dogs cruise to 7-2 win over Brown Bears

FAIRBANKS—The Fairbanks Ice Dogs had heard the Coulee Region Chill defeated the Minnesota Wilderness earlier Friday.

The Ice Dogs knew they had to take care of business against the Kenai River Brown Bears on Friday night, in the Big Dipper Ice Arena to stay ahead of the Wilderness for first place in the North American Hockey League’s Midwest Division.

The Ice Dogs ovecame a 1-0 setback in the first period Friday to roll to a 7-2 win and jump to the top of the Midwest standings at 39-16-4 for 82 points. The Wilderness, which lost 4-2 to the Chill in Cloquet, Minnesota, are 37-16-4 for 80 points.
