FAIRBANKS—The fans in the Big Dipper Ice Arena on Friday night saw what their counterparts in the Northlands Credit Union Arena in Cloquet, Minnesota, witnessed for the first two games of the North American Hockey League Midwest Division final series.

The 2,242 spectators in the Big Dipper saw the top-seeded Fairbanks Ice Dogs start strong but not finish likewise against the second-seeded Minnesota Wilderness.

The Ice Dogs, last year’s Robertson Cup champion in the Tier II Junior A league, lost 6-3 on Friday after seizing a 3-0 lead in the first period.
