Mike Taffe – Fairbanks Ice Dogs

Fairbanks goaltender Mike Taffe turned aside 63 of 69 shots as the Ice Dogs skated to a three-game sweep over Kenai River.  On Friday, the Maple Grove, Minn., native made 20 saves in a 6-2 victory. The next night, the 18-year-old stopped 19 shots as the Ice Dogs doubled up the Brown Bears, 4-2. On Sunday, Taffe won his sixth game in a row after making 24 saves in regulation and overtime and five of six in the shootout in a 3-2 triumph.

\”Mike gets better every time he plays,\” said Ice Dogs head coach Josh Hauge.  \”He gives us a chance to win every night and our team has a lot of confidence playing in front of him.\”
